Biotech startups may request a letter of support from ICBI administrators to help strengthen their SBIR/STTR NIH proposals. The support letters will emphasize the benefits of ICBI residency, including shared equipment and supplemental services. Importantly, leased laboratory space is completely independent of academic research space. Both resident and virtual companies may submit these requests at a minimum of two weeks prior to grant submission.
Technical Staff
An experienced laboratory manager with scientific expertise maintains medical laboratory equipment performance and is available to troubleshoot procedures and arrange equipment replacement, service, and repair.
Flow Cytometry
ICBI possesses an on-site Becton Dickinson FACSCalibur flow cytometer equipped with a 488nm air-cooled argon ion laser, which offers up to 3-color analysis. Qualified personnel may operate this instrumentation in accordance with the lease agreement; however, a flow cytometry operator is also available to perform fee-based sample running and analysis for those companies that lack cytometric experience. The on-site flow operator can also provide consultation and technical advice relating to sample prep and trouble-shooting.
