On October 31, 2016, Dr. Vincent Groppi, Director of Center for Discovery of New Medicines (CDNM), University of Michigan, presented a seminar on “ Innovative Strategies for Accelerating Academic Drug Discovery”. The seminar was sponsored by CTSI and ICBI as a part of the Translational Research and Entrepreneurship Program. Dr. Groppi discussed the innovative model that CDNM is pursuing to identify projects across the U-M campus and stimulate drug discovery by providing funding and mentorship. He presented some real life examples of project that CDNM is advancing for new therapy development.
