Administration
An experienced laboratory manager with scientific expertise maintains laboratory equipment and is available to troubleshoot procedures and arrange equipment replacement, service, and repair. Administrative assistant manages the front desk, conference rooms, mail, Fedex, and UPS services. A shared printer/scanner/fax is available in the office area.
Institutional Biosafety
Institutional Biosafety Committees (IBCs) at ICBI ensures that research activities are in compliance with federally-mandated responsibilities and obligations as described in the NIH Guidelines for Research Involving Recombinant or Synthetic Nucleic Acid Molecules, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) select agent guidelines, and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) select agent regulations.
IACUC
The animal facility is fully accredited by AAALAC International and maintains an Assurance of Compliance from PHS/OLAW.
Office of Clinical Research– the Office of Clinical Research (OCR) serves to establish Indiana University, its strategic partner, IU Health and its other research collaborators as a premier enterprise for sponsored clinical trials. The mission of the OCR is to enhance the clinical research engagement process; streamline contracting for industry sponsored clinical trials; optimize budgeting and study support/facilitation processes; create an optimal environment and workforce for clinical research; increase clinical trial participation and the number of clinical trials across the enterprise, and engage key sponsors to enhance our partnerships.
Flow Cytometry
ICBI possesses an on-site Becton Dickinson FACSCalibur flow. Qualified personnel may operate this instrumentation upon training. The on-site flow operator can additionally provide consultation and technical advice relating to sample preparation and trouble-shooting.
Clinical Trial Resources
ICBI has access to the clinical research group at Enterprise Clinical Research Operations. These research nurses are experienced with IRB protocol submission, data collection, enrollment of subjects, and study close out. The clinical research group manages multi-site clinical trials throughout the IU Health system under the approval of a single IRB. Biorepository
The IU Health Biorepository can obtain and store tissue and blood specimens for investigators. All specimens are annotated with caTissue software. Samples that are available can be viewed in caTissue and are available to investigators within the IU Health system. Samples are also provided to other investigators at a nominal fee on request. Biostatistics & Data Services
A full range of statistical consulting services for all phases of a research project is available at Enterprise Clinical Research Operations including the planning of the initial study, the design of experiments, and the consideration of sample size and power analysis.
